✨ A gorgeous, highly sought-after designer isopod! ✨

These beautiful isopods are loved for their soft pastel-pink and creamy white colouring, giving them a delicate appearance reminiscent of cherry blossom petals. 🌸🤍 A stunning addition to any collector’s isopod colony!

📏 Size: Approximately 12–15 mm as adults
⏳ Life Span: Potentially 2–3 years with proper care; exact lifespan data is limited
🌏 Origin: Japan 🇯🇵 (reported captive-bred line)

🎨 Colour: Soft pastel pink with pale cream or white body markings.

🏡 Terrarium Setup:

Create a comfortable, tropical-style enclosure with plenty of hiding places and a deep, moisture-retaining substrate.

Recommended materials include:

🍂 Decomposing leaf litter
🪵 Decaying hardwood and cork bark
🌱 Organic, chemical-free soil
🌿 Sphagnum moss to help retain moisture
🦴 A calcium source, such as cuttlebone or crushed limestone

Provide plenty of leaf litter for food and shelter, along with dark hiding places where your isopods can feel secure.

⛏️ Substrate: Aim for 3–4 inches or deeper to support burrowing and maintain consistent moisture.

🌡️ Temperature: Approximately 22–25°C.

💧 Humidity: Aim for around 70–80% as a starting point, maintaining a consistently moist substrate with a suitable moisture gradient. Avoid waterlogged conditions and provide gentle ventilation.

🥕 Diet:

Isopods are detritivores, meaning their primary food source is decomposing plant matter. Supplement their diet with:

🍃 Quality leaf litter
🪵 Decaying hardwood
🥕 Small amounts of vegetables
🐟 Occasional protein, such as fish flakes or dried shrimp
🦴 A constant source of calcium

Remove uneaten fresh food before it spoils, and keep the enclosure clean without disturbing the colony unnecessarily.

⭐ Difficulty: Intermediate to advanced. These isopods benefit from stable temperature, humidity and ventilation.

💕 Reproduction: Generally considered slower-breeding than many common isopods. Established colonies need patience and consistent care to grow.

🌸 Why we love them: Their delicate pink colouring and creamy markings make them a real showstopper for collectors looking for something unique and beautiful!

✨ Add a little pastel perfection to your isopod collection with these lovely Cherry Blossom isopods! ✨
